Yalumba Viognier Samuels Collection
Pure aromas reminiscent of fresh apricots, lifted ginger, saffron and fresh white flowers. The palate is long, rich and luscious, with intense and expressive stone fruit flavours finishing with an alluring freshness. Unusually for a Viognier, this wine will continue to grow and develop in the bottle, firstly showing enhanced apricots and spice, then honey flavours and toast complexity.
Natural, wild yeasts are encouraged to ferment this wine, lending a delightful complexity - the palate is further intensified by the use of old oak for 60% of the wine alongside extended lees ageing and battonage, resulting in a rich mouthfeel.
