Domaine Tollot Beaut Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru 'Les Fournieres'

A wonderful Aloxe-Corton from one of Burgundy's most revered family wineries.

This wine has expressive aromas of wild strawberry and blackberry fruit. On the palate, it displays firm, ripe tannins, bright notes of black fruit with a touch of clove spice lifted by fresh acidity.The finish is long and layered.

Interestingly, they have achieved this balance of depth and complexity alongside brightness by installing air-con in their barrel rooms, resulting in a lower temperature for the barrel ageing element. This helps to highlight the fruit character. The winemakers are also masters of the us of oak, utilising it as a 'seasoning', to bring out the best of the wine, rather than overpowering its elegance.
