La Capinera Franciacorta Brut NV

Vigneti Cenci's excellent Brut NV Franciacorta! Italy's oft-overlooked answer to Champagne, made in the traditional method for fine, elegant and persistent bubbles and added complexity. This particular example is 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Bianco. The former brings elegance, blossom aromas, crisp lemon zest and hints of savouriness (emphasised by the lees ageing), meanwhile the additional fruit of the Pinot Bianco emphasises the riper fruits, allowing for a lower dosage, creating a finely balanced wine with a wonderfully refreshing finish.
