Ch Haut-Beausejour St-Estephe
Ch Haut-Beausejour St-Estephe
The wine of Chateau Haut-Beausejour is vinified in traditional, large wood vats and aged in about 35% new, French oak barrels for about 12 months, producing classically styled St-Estephe. Despite the vineyards containing fractionally more Merlot than Cabernet, the 2015 vintage leans slightly more on Cabernet (55%) due to the lengthy ripening season. Tobacco and cold cinders on the nose. Long, rich palate with notes of morello cherry and blackcurrant balanced with smokey tobacco savouriness. Fine supple tannins and a fresh acidity adds energy and poise to the wine. (91pts Vinous Media, 90pts James Suckling)
