Echeverria 'No es Pituko' Cabernet Sauvignon

A vibrant and intense Cabernet Sauvignon, with a slightly cloudy appearance due to the natural vinification. Lively and inviting fruity aromas of red fruits and green pepper lead to a fresh palate with silky, soft tannins and raspberry, chocolate and liquorice tones.

This is an exciting wine, named 'No es Pituko' from the Chilean slang for 'it ain't fancy'. The grapes come from La Estancia Vineyard in the Curicó Valley, situated at 243m above sea-level. The climate is Mediterranean with long, dry summers and intense sunlight. There is a marked diurnal temperature range, where the cooler evenings encourage balancing natural acidity and aromatic complexity in the fruit.

The grapes were handharvested and brought to the winery in 18 kilogram boxes to preserve the quality. They were destemmed, pressed and cooled at 8°C, before being fermented with wild yeasts from the environment. No oak was used at any stage of the production, allowing for the full character of the fruit and yeasts to shine through.
