Benanti Etna Rosso Contrada Cavaliere

A delightful Etna Rosso, 100% Nerello Mascalese, showing the quality of this volcanic region on the island of Sicily. The wines of the region are manner from heaven for those who usually enjoy the wines of Burgundy and Piedmont. This particular wine was once bought by Simon to impress a young lady on a date at Enoteca Turi in London (Simon's dates are one of the rarest events known to man).

The wine is ruby red in colour. On the nose, aromas of red fruit merge with warming herbs and spices. The palate is dry, medium- to full-bodied and structured with ripe tannins and a persistent, harmonious finish. An almost insurpassable match with game and lamb.
