Antoine Pouget Margaux
A Margaux which screams its provenance from the rooftops. This is unmistakable, deep, rich and finely structured. Dark fruits and cassis notes are held together nicely with some cinnamon and wood spice, pencil shavings and nicely integrated tannins.
Named for Francois-Antoine Pouget, one of Louis XV's official advisors and (more importantly) founder of the Chateau Pouget estate, this is an excellent example of a second wine. Grown in the same vineyards and treated with the same care and attention in the winery, it is a wine which shares the DNA with the Chateau Pouget flagship (a 4th Growth) whilst being slightly more approachable in its first decade.
