Cabeas do Reguengo Respiro Natural White

This wine, produced from a field-blend of old vines in a 400 year old vineyard. In the glass, it evolves from incredible freshness, to crunchy green apples & citric notes into a complex, long lasting intensity on the palate. Finishing off with some white pepper & fresh spices. With the combination of elegance, finesse & also a youthful side, this wine is truly fascinating!

Almost as fascinating as the wine itself is the ethos of Joao Alfonso - owner and winemaker at Cabeas do Reguengo. His approach is minimalist - practising organic farming across most of his vineyards, and producing low-intervention wines in the winery. This is a case in-point - no sulphites were added ot this wine at any stage of its production, it its place, Joao utlised the natural preservative properties of chestnut flowers whilst the wine was ageing in very old 225l and 1000l barrels!
