37.5cl Lucien Crochet Sancerre 'La Croix du Roy'
It’s a curious quirk of good Sancerre that, as it ages, it increasingly resembles Vouvray. This example is half way along that path. It still shows the grassy characteristics of cool-climate Sauvignon, but the fruit is broadening into the more waxy, appley spectrum of Chenin Blanc. Great acid structure and mineral precision unite the two sides of its personality. This half bottle from a top grower is a little treat.
