Newbarns Brewery Deluxe
440ml can | 6%
And now for something completely different. It's Porter Jim, but not as we know it... it's been lagered! The team at Newbarns in Leith (on the outskirts of Edinburgh) have given us someting a little unusual, a porter (well hopped with Mosaic) which has been fermented with lager yeasts rather than ale yeasts. The result? Something with less fruity esters - the clean and malty backbone is flavoured with classic citrus notes entirely from the Mosaic, with none of the softer fruits you'd usually expect of a traditional porter. Cracking dark beer for warmer weather.
