No gimmicks, just great gin (at a pleasing price-point). As a winner of an unprecedented five gold medals in a row at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, you can definitely say this is a great gin. Made to the recipe of a former Naval Officer - one of the founder's grandfathers - this is classically inspired and blended to satisfy the most demanding of tastebuds.
As a well-travelled naval officer, Skip had more opportunity than most to use botanicals from all around the world. He carefully selected a few to give his gin the perfect balance – keeping it interesting and fresh, but smooth enough to be drunk neat (like he did).
Following his recipe, we tracked down piney juniper berries from Macedonia; zesty orange and lemon peel from Seville; cinnamon from the Seychelles for the spice; cassia bark from Indonesia for strength of flavour; Sri Lankan nutmeg for sweetness; Bulgarian coriander seeds for lemony citrus; orris root and liquorice for floral and woody sweetness and angelica for balance.
