Domaine Salmon Muscadet Sevre-et-Maine Sur Lie 'Reserve du Fief'

The Lord's Reserve! That's how good this Muscadet is. I was delighted to come across this wine when the importer, Tim, popped into the shop recently. I believe Muscadet is a superb wine, and when it has had some lees ageing (as this one has) it is also one of the finest wines you can get for the money. This one has everything a Muscadet Sevre-et-Maine Sur Lie should... freshness in the extreme, with lemon sherbet and fine minerality enlivening the tastebuds like few wines can. Meanwhile, the age of the vines and time on the lees adds depth and density to the palate - this is no one-trick pony.
