March's Case of the Month contains:

Kloof Street Old Vine Chenin Blanc (Swartland, South Africa)

An amazing introduction to the wines of Chris and Andrea Mullineux (who have wone Platter's Winery of the Year in four of the last seven - making them South African Oenological Royalty). Aromas of sun ripened pears and wet granite and on the palate a vibrant acidity balanced by a soft, round texture and some pithy character with a fresh, mineral finish.

Michele Chiarlo Gavi di Gaci 'Rovereto' (Italy)

From one of the best sub-zones in Gavi, the aromas are intense and elegant with hints of white flowers, golden apples and mineral notes. Well structured and balanced on the palate, with fragrant notes leading to incredible length on the finish.

Axel Pauly 'Purist' Riesling Kabinett Trocken (Mosel, Germany)

One of the rising stars of German wine, Axel Pauly has created a dry Riesling from the classic Mosel slopes. The soil is predominantly grey and blue slate, which gives this bone dry Riesling its striking mineral character and subtle, pure citrus notes.

Borovitza Evmolpia - Cabernet Franc* (Danubian Plains, Bulgaria)

A superb blend of Evmolpia and Cabernet Franc. Evmolpia, also known as Thracian Mavrud, is a crossing of Mavrud and Merlot which produces a juicy, velvety, fruit filled wine with a good smack of spice. The addition of Cab Franc adds some mineral lift and a pomegranate streak.

*This is a real rarity, whereas we always aim to show wines which will be with us for a long-time (for example two of the wines in this month's case only arrived in stock on the day I'm typing this up), our Evmolpia-Cabernet Franc bottles are the last we will be able to get hold of, a real, when it's gone it's gone situation.

Marques de Murrieta Rioja Reserva (Spain)

Brooding and smokey in the glass with flavours of ripe plum, red cherry and berries blend with spicy notes of licorice and sweet balsamic. The wine is silky and well balanced with rounded tannins and refreshing acidity. The long, mineral finish has notes of sweet spice and ripe plum fruit. (93pts James Suckling, 93pts Wine Advocate, 92pts Wine Spectator, 92pts Wine & Spirits... you get the idea)

Undurraga TH Cabernet Sauvignon (Maule Valley, Chile)

From Undurraga's 'Terroir Hunter' range of wines. Defined by its structure and great complexity, this is an expressive and powerful wine which shows rounded elegance. Revealing aromas of red fruit, spice and earthy notes this is full bodied with well-integrated tannins and a long, persistent finish. Ideal with roasted red meat or mature cheese.
